Dear Fellow Rotarians,
As we move into this special season, I want to pause and say thank you for the many ways this club shows up for our community. I know I speak for the entire club when I express my gratitude to Marjorie and her trusty elf, Lee, whose tireless work is helping ensure that children across Waldo County have warm coats, sturdy boots, and a little something special from Santa. Serving over 225 children this year, their care and dedication embody the very best of Rotary. And your immediate response on Wednesday to the continuing need in this county is inspiring.
Our holiday lunch was terrific, especially with the concert from the CASS Chorus, which captured the spirit of the season, and by the impromptu poetry reading from our very own Santa O’Malia, who reminded us—once again—that Rotary has many hidden talents, (Though I am still waiting to be recognized for my hidden joke talents. Could be a long time coming.)
Thank you all for the generosity, fellowship, and good cheer you bring to this club and to our community. Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season and Happy New Year filled with service to our wonderful community.
With gratitude,
Russell Werkman
President
