On these short winter days I take comfort knowing that fun summer events are coming our way. I look forward to all of the activities our community offers, especially the events our club supports. We’re already in full swing planning Harborfest, we’re kicking off the Annual Fundraiser. This is the lovely newspaper insert that is published the same week as our Annual Golf Tournament. We will be swinging golf clubs before we know it! In May we will gather as a group to help with the annual Keeping Belfast Maine Beautiful clean-up and in June we’ll participate in a community event to Welcome newcomers to the area.
While we have so many exciting things happening this year, we are also making great progress with the planning for our Legacy Project. We held a fun and interactive brainstorming session during our club assembly on February 15th. From this session I pulled together the top ideas from each table and have come up with a list of both suggestions and interested participants. We will hear from Tena Wallace and the Rockland Club soon, then we will have our first official planning meeting for our Legacy Project. If you’re interested in helping and we don’t have you on the list yet, please send me an email at kristinewentworth85@gmail.com.
