President’s Message May 2017

Leaves are opening up and the flowers are breaking through. Springtime here is always so beautiful. A time of rebirth and renewal after a long cold winter. It reminds us of the promise of everything good. Something I am reminded of every time I begin the monthly message. Every time I think about what this club accomplishes throughout the year.

I’d like to begin this month by welcoming our two newest members. Michael Corden, who joined us in March and Linda Payson who joined us in April. Our sincerest welcome to you both. We are so pleased you have joined our Belfast Rotary family. We look forward to getting to know you both better through service.

We are currently in the midst of our biggest charity fundraiser of the year. Always exciting as it culminates with a golf tournament. This fundraiser generates so much energy and excitement each and every year. Preliminary numbers are the best we have ever seen. This allows us to do so much good throughout the year. This club never ceases to amaze me. I know all of the captains and their respective team members have been working diligently to reach our goals. I’d like to say a special thank you to our Chairperson Paul Doody. His efforts coordinating and guiding us are greatly appreciated.

Looking forward at this month, we have our annual scholarship awards luncheon. We look forward each year to honoring the young men and women who are our future. Mark your calendars for May 24th as we once again gather to award $70,000 in the leadership and service scholarship categories.

My year as your President is winding down quickly. Much quicker than I expected. I have been reflecting on our year and all we have accomplished together. I look forward to recapping the past rotary year with you all next month.

Thank you, Rotarians for all you do!!

Brian Beaulieu
